Simco Drops is pleased to present Image Pollocks, the artist's second NFT series. Image Pollocks is a series of programmatically generated digital collages in 3 parts: eighty-eight 3kX3k pngs, forty-four 4kX4k pngs, and one 32kX18k psb. The series started with the challenge to make the most dense digital collage to date. The final piece in the series has 114,206 layers.
Thinking of Cage and chance operations fueled a lot of this series. Incremental control and tweaking, massaging conditional logic. Setting the stage for an onslaught of caught compositions - digital collages reminding me of Jackson Pollocks. The pieces pull from a carefully curated collection of 11,111 images - collected and cut over 10+ years. I then wrote a script to make unique ‘splatters’ of a subset from the collection for each piece. While the script is optimized, the smaller pieces take about 20min to complete with 1700 or so layers, the medium pieces take about 50min with 5000 or so layers, and the final massive piece took about 14 hours.
After the 7 day drop period ends, the collector who acquires the most of the 88 3kX3k works will be awarded with IMAGE_POLLOCK_Bonus_6k_1_9464, and the collector who acquires the most of the 44 4kX4k works will be awarded IMAGE_POLLOCK_Bonus_6k_1_9462.
